No doubt!

The political game has been corrupted so much, the political oligopoly has conspired to 'rig the game' (gerymandering, ballot access restrictions, bans on fusion voting, etc.) to keep out all opposition from new political groups and potential parties... and this has had the unsalutitory effect of ALSO keeping new (potentially useful) ideas out of the system, and keeping the power entrenched in the hands of corrupt old pols and monied interests.

(I actually have to go back to the earliest days of our Republic --- perhaps not coincidentially, *before* a duopoly of political parties grabbed total control of the process --- in my mind to find examples of truly ADMIRABLE Congresses....)
