The smearvets are useless garbage now. A one-shot smear weapon, single use only.

McCain himself is one of their fiercest critics. Kerry has tape of McCain calling them all "dishonest and dishonorable" and he also called their leader "most despicable". The rightwing Washington Times has proven Kerry's military record is totally spotless. It was all a big hoax and the national media won't touch it with a ten-foot pole. If the GOP tries to use it they will be slammed. So what's left for the rightwing to smear Kerry with?

He's from Massachusetts and lives in a mansion? Same as Mitt Romney. He went to Yale. So did Bush. He is "too liberal". Not according to the Dem leftwing base he isn't. He flipflops? He hasn't changed a single damn policy of his and we could only dream of Bush finally flip flopping. Meanwhile, Kerry will be running on real issues, primarily to end the Empire Of Oil in our lifetimes. That is a huge fight he's picking but a crucial one for our future. No one else dares to take on Exxon and ther est.

There is a reason the White House spent two crucial days of TV time right before the election making fun of Kerry's botched joke. Because they desperately fear him. They also fear Gore, but so far Gore ain't running and is not that combative. They do not fear Hillary or Obama very much, though they don't brush them off either. They know they can beat them but only by fighting dirty. And they will. Very dirty. McCain would have no problem bashing them, but a very hard time bashing Kerry.
