The Founding Fathers were not Christians, and Jewishness didn't even enter into the picture. That's a big fat Bill O'Reilly type lie and revisionist history ploy. I doubt there was a single Jew in America at the time. And "under God" does not mean Jesus or any particular religion.

I have posted the founding fathers' quotes in the past, but here are a few to remember:

"The US is by no means founded on the Christian doctrine"
- George Washington

"It does me no injury if my neighbor worships twenty gods or no God" - Thomas Jefferson

"I do not find in orthodox christianity a single redeeming feature" - Jefferson

"Jesus -- I have doubts as to his divinity" - Ben Franklin

"The Bible is not my book and christianity not my religion" - Lincoln (founder of GOP)

Madison meanwhile slammed Christianity as a hotbed of "ignorance, superstition, bigotry and persecution"

But Bill O'Reilly and the other BS artists on the religious right won't tell you about all this, will they? They want war against Islam and "secular progressives".

Bottomline, separation of chruch and state - almost totally. Or else we cease to be America and start becoming an intolerant theocracy,m which the Founding Fathers warned us from ever becoming.
