MOMAF successfully deployed H3C backbone networking products
H3C provides the most advanced networking solution for MOMAF dual network
Korea, January 3, 2006 - Huawei-3Com (H3C), a leading IP networking solutions provider worldwide, announced today that MOMAF (Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries) deployed H3C backbone networking products for its network upgrade. MOMAF started a network upgrade project in August 2006 and replaced its major networking products with H3C products to solve its burden of rapidly increasing network traffic of large data caused by automated work process and internet usage.
After MOMAF deployed automated task including integrated Electronic Approval System, Ocean- Korea knowledge Integrated System (Okis) and Port Management Information System (Port-MIS), they have had challenges in improving network speed and performance and found that the key issues were old networking devices in regional offices of Pusan, Incheon and Yeosu.
Therefore, MOMAF finally built secure network without down time by deploying high performance networking products and enabling dual network configuration. The products that MOMAF deployed for the network upgrade were H3C backbone switches (S6506R / H3C S7506R) and routers (NE40-4) whose reliability and stability have been proven in Korean network market.
MOMAF selected H3C products through many times of benchmarking test based on performance and reliability of the industry standard. They also explained that the biggest advantage of the H3C products was the compatibility not only with existing products but also with various products that will be deployed in the future. They also added that H3C direct support enabled the early stabilization of their network.
“The most significant point of this project is 10GE network deployment as well as dual network which is the most important for network stabilization,” said the IT manager of MOMAF, Oh-Jeong Kwon. “We expect to improve the productivity of employees through upgrading network condition and ultimately we can provide quality civil service and information more promptly through the improvement of IT infrastructure.”
“As many public organizations have their work environment automated, there are more and more heavy data and traffic from internal network. In order to make the most out of the various applications, it is very important for organizations to build up network infrastructure with high-performance and reliability,” said Daniel Sohn, the Manager of Technical Team of H3C Korea, “We will do our best to provide consistent services to maintain our customers’ network up and running.”
