I agree with your analysis....no open ended deals anymore. The democrats will approve the funding and back any short term, well defined, troop requests. But the entire time they will be slowly shaking their heads in dismay.

Then if it works, they claim part of the credit. If it doesn't work (more likely), they can say...well, we did what we could; we worked with the President, but.....
