How much do you think the programs would be abused vs. how much they'd be legitimately used? Do you think that many people feel good walking into a soup kitchen? They wouldn't rather be working?

That's what really pisses me off....the poor tend to be some of the hardest working people in our society but yet opponents of a safety net are absolutely convinced the poor would much prefer to walk into a soup kitchen than to work. The guy I met in the casino told me the best job he has ever had was working on an Alaska fishing trawler.......the pay was good and it was outside. Anyone who knows anything about fishing up in Alaska knows it is some of the hardest, most dangerous work around. It makes me sick how the wealthy criticize the poor.
