Longnshort, it takes quite a bit of muscle to choke someone with a seatbelt extender. Compare that to a boxcutter held at the victim's throat, where all it takes is a simple flick of the wrist.

If I engage the latter assailant, there is a very high chance that his victim will die. Not so with the former assailant.
