XM Misses User Target

Washington, D.C.-based XM said it added more than 1.695 million new subscribers in 2006, ending the year with more than 7.625 million subscribers. That's shy of the 7.7 million to 7.9 million target the company set in July, when it slashed its user-growth target for the second time in 2006. XM had earlier targeted a 2006-end subscriber total of 9 million.

Hmmm. Now let's see.. Who was it that called this miss just after the FIRST revision of XM's subscriber targets? I beleive I stated that my model came out with a 10% chance of a miss of even the 7.7 million number. Which some here "who claimed that, only they, understood the "POWER OF THE BUSINESS MODEL" believed that miss was nearly impossible after the guidance had been cut from 9 million to 7.7 million to 8.5 million.

It amazes me that those that claimed such superior financial enlightenment who demanded exacting datum from others, failed to provide even the simplest basis for his projections.

Looking forward to Q1 07. XMSR will lose ~525,000 so called "subscribers" to CHURN. What will be XM's net subscriber gain for Q1 be??

And so it goes,
