It gets complicated doesn't it John. And then when the natural complexity is exacerbated by hedge funds and countries playing games, it is all but impossible to figure out.

The reason I stick to uranium, zinc, nickel and silver is I have confidence the demand/supply problem is here to stay.

Beyond that I am really blind. I have also learned reading all these prognostications over the years that many more people are wrong than right when predicting the future of gold, or currencies, than are right.

But I do remember, I think, when Jim Baker orchestrated a controlled fall in the dollar during the Reagan/bush year? which took many months. I think that is correct? Many years ago.

In graduate school I took an economics course from a conservative economist who argued a strong dollar was best as buying imports was cheaper. He and I butted heads quite a bit and it was 1 of only 2 B's I got. He was teaching supply side economics which has been prettty much discreditied.

I was in the wrong class. Later I learned there was a good liberal economics professor (who taught keynsian economics) I could have chosen with whom I am sure I would have done much-better-lol.

As an aside, Keynes (sic?) has been considered by many to be up there with Einstein as one fo the greatest thinkers of the 20th century. He predicted the great depression perfectly as I remember.
