I'm not worried or even too interested in the 3rd quarter earnings. I 'm a long term investor,I have owned INTC for several years and plan to continue holding as long as Moore's law is valid. Intel has some cyclical tendencies related to both business cycle and its own product cycle (one reason why it usually sells at a relatively low P/E), and it is not in a particularly favorable part of its product cycle now. Wait until mid 1988 and 1999.
Maybe Paul Engle could comment more on the product cycle if he reads this post.
