"This was already a fact 10-15 years ago and actually more so back then"

You think overfishing has only happened in recent years? Read Seinbeck's "Cannery Row". It is set in the aftermath of the collapse of the California sardine industry. The anchovetti industry in Peru collapsed during the mid-1970s which led to a whole chain of shortages because they were used industrially in so many areas. Salmon used to be really cheap when I was a kid. Canned salmon was a lot cheaper than tuna, as a result we ate a lot of it. Can't stand the stuff any more. Just to name a few.

"You may know that US beef cannot be imported to the EC, right? Too pumped up with hormones, they say."

Which is why Jim Hightower tried to get the Europeans to buy Texas beef. They just free range them here for the most part. No feedlots, even. The FDA was cross with Jim because of it.
