I am re-posting my pick, with a brief description:

Name: Amarillo Gold
Symbol: AGC.V
2006 Closing Price: 0.85
Website: amarillogold.com

Amarillo is a junior gold exploration company focused on properties in Brazil. Their primary property, Mara Rosa has a historical resource of 700,000 ounces. The company continues to expand the resource their through exploration and recently extended the size of the property by staking additional ground.

More recently, the company acquired a property, Lavras do Sul, from Rio Tinto. Rio had performed enough drilling there to identify a gold deposit, but deferred additional work on the property as they were seeking deposits of at least 4-5MM ounces. Amarillo is currently drilling Lavras do Sul in order to confirm the previous work done by Rio as well as to extend the size of the deposit and bring it into 43-101 compliance. Initial results are anticipated in January, but obviously that is contingent on getting the cores through the labs.
