Florida tourist numbers down 2.4% this Fall. That's not too bad. Net new residents also down, but much more affluent and with fewer kids than previous years. Many middle and lower class families with kids are moving out. This year many South Florida counties will have fewer students than last year, resulting in a wholesale revision of plans for new schools. Overall, not a bad trend for Florida, at least for existing residents that stay put in their tax-capped homes.
