Bush lies about the deficits saying he cut them in half. What Bush did three-four years ago was to make up a grossly pessimistic projection that we would have a 550 billion budget this year (roughly), then when he came in at 260 he claimed he "cut the deficit in half". But all he did was lien to the American people in the first place that we would expect grosser deficits that he expected. This is a typical trick by a very dishonest politician trying to hoodwink us all.

Also Bush never counts war costs in his budgets which is totally dishonest.

BTW: Bush inherited a REAL 235 billion dollar surplus in 2001. So even at 250 billion he's added a half trillion in deficit spending per year. But it's probably going to end up being a lot worse that that. Plenty of Enron accounting going on in Bushville.
