Some of my friends from New Zealand were planning a trip up here to the States to visit us this year (they've already made reservations) but this... nzherald.co.nz ...has them upset to the point where they're about ready to cancel their trip. It makes me goddam mad that our government doesn't care about millions of illegals pouring over our borders yet keeps putting more and more onerous big brother restrictions on friendly tourists from countries that have no terror connections. It all adds up to a big "Not Welcome" sign, courtesy of the Department of Homeland Stupidity. They'll strip search granny while refusing to apply reasonable emphasis to those who fit the terrorist profile because of political correctness. If I didn't live in the US, I wouldn't put up with all the "up against the wall" treatment at Customs just for a vacation here. Our tourist industries are eventually going to suffer because of this crap.. <end rant>
