Kerry won three Purple Hearts, all earned in combat. He still has shrapnel in his thigh. There is no controversy concerning any of JK's Purple Hearts. The smearvet doctor was proven a liar by a photo JK produced of himself after his last wound. It shows a very large bandage on his arm, which was in a sling, so obviously it was not a "band-aid". That is another example of a rightwing Republican lying to protect the fact Bush went AWOL and lioed about it in his autobiography.

However, even if it were a bandaid wound, Bob Dole admits he got a Purple Heart for a cut on his arm which was treated with an antiseptic and a small bandaid. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Small wounds or large ones, if in combat are all treated the same by those who give out Purple Hearts. Besides, the same piece of shrapnel can either kill you or just be a bandaid wound depending on whether it cuts an artery gets lodged in the spine or not.

I might also remind you that the smearvets mocked Max Cleland for getting three limbs blown off in combat, so they are equal opportunity smearers and liars when it comes to challenging democratic war heros. In truth, these smearvets are just a big fat hoax. None of them knew Kerry. None of them fought with him.

None of what they said was true and they know it. But they don't care. You can put a mountain of evidence in front of them and they will just keep on lying. Like naughty children caught stealing the cookies but denying they did it.
