Saddam being allowed to live for 3 years is just a show for whatever that was worth!

Like it or not, the US is definitely complicit in Saddam's crimes because it was the US that supplied the nerve gas and chemical precursors for making it.

Perhaps you are not aware that Saddam was maneuvered by the US into the war against Iran (1979-1988) for the sake of protecting American vested interests in Saudi Arabia whose Royal House, incidentally, is an illegitimate one and therefore shaky. What bothered the US was that, at that time, the Iranian Shi-ite revolution threatened to set the entire Middle East ablaze and all that that implied.

To cut a long story short, towards the end, as the Iraqis were losing, the US supplied them with nerve gas and satellite image data to enable the Iraqis to target the Iranians successfully and fight them to a draw. BTW, that war was allowed to drag on for so long in order to weaken both Iraq and Iran so that they could be picked on with less effort later on.

I reiterate: the very fact that the US supplied Saddam with the the nerve gas and other weapons and the satellite data to enable the Iraqis to target the Iranians with great accuracy
makes the US complicit and as guilty as Saddam......

While it had appeared that the Iraqis were solely responsible for the trial and execution of Saddam, I believe the trial was scripted and much influenced by the US. As always, there is more than meets the eye.
