It looks like you have a strong bias for and perhaps are an AAPL shareholder. Fact is you are way overestimating the takeup on this device. $499 is the price. That is pretty pricy for a phone. I will give you this much though, that touch screen is mega cool. I think the far east manufacturers will be copying this touch screen very soon. Then there is the issue of it using an inferior data protocall. And no live video capability that I can see. Live video would have been the slam dunk application to put on a device with a cool screen like this has. As it stands I see nothing compelling about this, other than the neat touch screen, that could compel people to pay a big ticket for it. Live TV from MediaFlo and Verizon will be a much more compelling application. People don't want to be bothered with downloading video into a device to watch on a small screen. I think video Ipod was a strong starter but has not penetrated the market place anywhere like the Mp3 Ipod did. But Media Flo will be a big winner provided the service is priced reasonably. Loyal Apple freaks will no doubt buy this, but I don't think it will be anywhere near as big as they are predicting, given it's present features and high price.
