They show it periodically on ESPN classics.
Up here we have fog and then fog and then fog but none count until you get the "pea soup" fog--that was a "Pea Soup" fog.
Pea Soup fogs are actually very rare inland.
i have known only two when i was also driving a car at the time. So i define a Pea Soup fog when you have to open your door to see where the road line is.
Or the ornament on your car hood is that last thing you can see:)
Safe speed , about 1 mile an hour, or just stop the car.
But when ever a Pea Soup Fog occurs at sea here, we are treated to beautiful sound as all the boats start their fog horns.
Ah the sound of fog horns.
Two boats , at a super slow speed approach each other , one sounds and then the other; giving each a chance to hear if sound is to starboard or port or right at you.
If you should run across this and it sounds like the boats are talking to each other with those horns, that is exactly what they are doing.

Like i say, they are rare, but when i can't see the players on the football field, i call that a "Pea-Suopa, guv'nor'":)
