Yup. They have quietly been moving ships into the region for months. Given the assets that have been and are being deployed, we are going to try to contain Iran's response to an Israeli raid. If I don't miss my guess, the "surge" is to beef up the border with Iran, not increase patrols in Baghdad. In fact, I suspect that there will be a lot of repositioning inside Iraq to close the borders with Iran and Syria.

So we are looking at 3 weeks, plus or minus. Say, right before his State of the Union address. I suspect that this plan is based on optimistic assumptions. Because we don't have nearly enough boots on the ground if Iran comes across the border in any force. If the state of repair of our assets in country is anywhere accurate, then our troops could have their hands full.
