Actually the stability of the US as a democracy depends on reasonably equal distribution of wealth just as it depends on reasonably equal distribution of votes. How people can think that wealth can be vastly unequal and voting can remain equal is beyond me.

The qualitative statements are sort of meaningless. What is the mathematical distribution of wealth that ruins America? Give us at least a range. If you can't provide some numbers, what's the point of the conversation?

Its like global warming. Who can tell you when the exact tipping point will occur? It varies from one culture to the next. We revolted in 1776 when taxes from the Brits were increased and were deemed unfair. We revolted again when the North wanted the South to give up slaves. We experienced more revolts by blacks in the sixties and women in the 70s over equality. I can't tell you when the tipping point will happen but I know if we continue on the current trend it will happen.
