You got realism. You got honesty. You got a pragmatist who understands the problem.

But we haven't got an "...or else!" to Iran and Syria. Bush said out loud that Iran and Syria had been aiding and supplying the insurgents and the Shia death squads, but I didn't hear a SINGLE reason that would make either country think twice about continuing to do so. So Bush ordered another carrier group to the Gulf, what is that supposed to do? There is no threat to them.

That's weak.

Weakness invites further attack.

This is the Middle East.
