Compound them variables man, it's great for ignoring the obvious.

100% of long term underground workers in Denison Mines from the 1950's died of cancer. Of course they may have contracted it somewhere else. Who knows? Maybe they smoked marijuana too!

Few if any underground workers got serious silicosis after working 20 to 30 years when they used aluminum dust prophylaxis in Ontario. Now many do that they don't use Aluminum. Hemlo (gold mining complex in Ontario for the past 20 years) is a case in point. Where you have a prejudice it pays to ignore data.

But we have not considered all the variables yet.

The biggest variable in any stidy that skews results and interpretation the most is stupidity.

We have that if it is required. It appears it is protective often. And even where it is not, it provides peace of mind.
