08:41 SIRF SiRF Technology: Deutsche Bank comments on CES, notes SIRF has multiple new design wins with Magellan (25.74 ) Deutsche Bank notes that they met with multiple PND vendors and other industry contacts at CES. With regard to Magellan, SIRF has multiple new design wins with Magellan including several popular high volume PND devices, the 2000, 2200T, 3050, 6000 and just-released CrossoverGPS. They note Garmin (GRMN) launched two new products with several dozen more slated for 2007. Firm says checks at TomTom indicated that they would be using Global Locate as their primary GPS chipset in a new One device shipping in Q2. They note that Motorola (MOT) announced collaboration with Jentro Tech and Destinator to bring mobile navigation and location based services to the mass market. As noted last fall, they say MOT has designed ten new phones for CY07 with SiRF's GPS chipsets. The firm continues to see lower cost PND's and deeper penetration of the cell phone market as key drivers for SIRF in 2007. They believe the co can meet or beat their Q4 revenue and earnings estimates.
