What do you think the Iraqi population would have said on the issue had they been given a chance? Would Iraqi society voted for a>forced liberation by US military, or b>the endless status quo, had they done a one man one vote thing in early 2002? I have a feeling they would have voted yes - get the hell rid of Saddam's regime, but that's just speculation on my part. Yes I believe the Iraqis wanted/needed a regime change, however, it could have been done in a manner that would have maintained stability and security of the country. And yes people in Iraq saw hope when the American invaded but got their hope crushed when they figured what the US was after.
The US doesn't just "want to be" the superpower, it is. The US is losing its power.
As for solve your own problem, of course, we will. How? by increasing the number of targets by 20,000 in Iraq
As for share the wealth, this seems to be your own pet peeve. That brings us back to the motive of the invasion
The US has done more to raised the global standard of living than perhaps any other country in history. Maybe
Without the US economy and its relation to China (and to a lesser degree India) the economic miracles of those two countries over the past 10-20 years (which have lifted BILLIONS out of dirt poor subsistence existence) could not have occurred. So, rest of the world, you're welcome for the wealth we have helped you to create for yourself. My context is relating to Iraq contracts. Since you brought it up, the American economy was built on slavery and Chinese built on child labor. The American economy is losing job and lot of them to china and India. I wonder how long this bleed would be sustained. |
