(That little troubling point about budget authority being reserved for the co-equal government branch, the Legislative. ...Something about 'balancing powers' off against each other to PRESERVE OUR LITTLE NATIONAL EXPERIMENT IN DEMOCRACY!) (Other then that, nothing IMPORTANT, I guess.... :-) By the way --- wasn't NIXON also the last President to FREEZE WAGES AND PRICES???????????? (LOL! Big 'success' there! :-( Also to finally ABANDON convertibility of our currency into gold? Close the Treasury's 'gold window'? Practically GUARANTEE that MONETARY INFLATION and government DEFICIT OVER-SPENDING would bedevil us EVER THERE AFTER?????? (Yep! Quite a Big Government 'Hero' there!) "After democrats took away the authority of the executive branch to run government, the children took over the show and pandemonium has been the rule ever since." Please! Silly rhetoric... unless you are a Monarchist or some other stripe of Big Brother Authoritarian. "Restore the power of impoundment and some of the waste will stop" Unless (as seems LIKELY) you've got a President with his own BIG SPENDING PLANS (as they all seem to have!) >>> BALANCED BUDGET AMENDMENT, and PAYGO budgetary rules --- the only structural changes likely to produce a restored sense of parsimony in the government.
