Bastardi has been in the news before--you cant blame
Accuweather for trying to get a little PR, the time may
or may not be right for that. The same thing happens in
Hurricane season.

And for sure, mets in the National Weather Service have a
tendency to overdo it as well. But it is hard to criticize
people when they cross the line from informing toward hyping:
The last time I criticized a few of the folks in my office
for overhyping a situation, I was scolded--and nearly got a
formal reprimand.
