Bush-Rice remain in deep states of delusion and denial. Listening to them, the real message is --

WE HAVE SCREWED THIS UP SO BADLY THAT UNLESS YOU NOW SEND MORE TROOPS WE WILL LET IT GET SCREWED UP EVEN WORSE, AND EVEN IF IT GETS EVEN MORE SCREWED UP THAT THAT AT LEAST WE'RE NOT QUITTERS. WHEN WE SCREW SOMETHING UP WE REALLY-REALLY SCREW IT UP BADLY.
