That's why I mentioned the UN. It certainly was not out of a love of the institution or a belief in its glorious restorative powers. <gg>

The nuclear weapons would be held "in trust" by the nuclear powers for "all of mankind". It's a fig leaf.

This really comes down to problems of collective security. It doesn't work. And that's why the great powers still want nuclear weapons. And that's why we'll get hit with a terrorist nuke.
