Just to clarify, just because I posted that article doesn't mean I agree with it. I wanted Gore in 2000 (as the lesser of 2 evils) and can't wait for Bush to get out of there.

However, I'm not sure that even with Gore as president that he could do much to affect global warming. The U.S. is only a small part of the world, and the rest of the world wants to enjoy the same living standard that Americans have. China and other countries may just use up resources at a torrid pace no matter what Gore does. The best bet is probably to try to develop alternative energy that would be a viable option for developing countries both in terms of cost and environmental impact. The U.S. could stop using environmentally unfriendly energy completely and it may not make any difference longer term if the whole world doesn't change.
