Advertising can go to all extremes.

On candy that's almost 100% sugar & high fructose corn syrup: Fat Free!

On a big greasy bag of potato chips: Sugar Free!

Serving size 4 cookies. Serving size of the regular ones? 6 cookies.

Gotta' love the diet pill commercials too.

"Linda lost 21 lbs" Come on now, based on the before/after views she's lost at least 50 lbs, not 21. And of course the tiny print flashing under the screen makes it very clear that in all these examples they're showing

"Results not typical"
"... combined with diet and exercise
"... not evaluated by the FDA"

Or how about the ones that require you to buy their food? $400/month for a bunch of TV dinners? If someone wants to lose weight the first thing to do is severely limit fried or other oily/greasy foods but still fill yourself up by eating more salads, fruits and vegetables.

Another thing few people know, starving yourself often works in reverse; your body thinks food is scarce and goes into an emergency energy storage mode. Guess how the body stores energy?
