I see upstream you asked for a soldiers opinion of the picture. However, I was going to respond before I saw that, so will anyway. I'm only a woman, a Mom and a Grandmom.
I think the picture shows the real GWB after the last 6+ years. He has had so very many things to cope with, and BY FAR more than most Presidents of recent vintage. The media is there 24/7/365, and most of them are waiting to have him stumble, or watch it happen....and they do so with glee.
This ceremony at the WH was to honor a Medal of Honor awardee, and the heroism of that man is simply amazing. When one compares Marine Cpl. Jason Dunham to the likes of Durbin, Kennedy, Obama, and oh, so many others, it seems like a nightmare.
Most of our Military are giving their all every day to protect this country, and so many others over here are doing their best to make Bush look bad, instead of helping to rid ourselves and the world of those people who have vowed to kill us and our way of life.
I personally don't give a da*n any more about what our enemies think anymore. I will give them as much consideration as they do for us.
