Yes, Reagan sent Marines to Lebanon and they were hit by a terrible bomb. Reagan pledged he would never retreat, but did so a week later and it's a good thing he did. That was a terrible blunder sending those Marines into Lebanon and making them a target. Atb the same time Reagan pledged never to negotiate with terrorists but had Ollie North send tons of missiles to Iran in exchange for a hostage. I didn't see Carter sending arms to Iran. Instead, he sent in a daring rescue force. Sadly, it got hit by a sandstorm and had to abort, but if that had worked Carter would have been a big hero.
