Do you see any distinction between fighting terror cells of al quaida (a worthy goal) and being stuck in a thousand year old argument between a Sunni neighborhood and a Shiite neighborhood, neither of which is particularly interested in the terrorist agenda?

You don't seem to. There is such a difference, as proven by the death squads targeting each other (hardly a terrorist priority).

We need to pick our battles. We need to pick our battlefields. we can't fight everywhere at once. Iraq is not necessarily the right battleground at this point in time. If our soldiers and marines are going to continue refereeing the embodiment of sectarian anger, it will be a mission wasted and a battle we cannot win.....

You seem to think I don't see the danger of al quaida and muslim extremism. I certainly do. I don't see the streets of Baghdad as the best place to fight that battle. You seem to.

There is where we disagree.
