Or a "non signing statements". Presidents don't sign bills when their veto has been overwritten.

I don't totally disagree with your post. Its possible that the current situation could lead to some movement on the issue of the boundaries of power between the branches. But I think that impeachment is unlikely and conviction even more so. You might get conflict between the white house and congress, you might get more calls for impeachment, but actually impeachment, combined with conviction/removal? Its a really extreme long shot.

And if congress tries to use the USSC to impose restrictions on the presidency its likely that the court would sidestep the issue or rule narrowly.

I don't really think the boundary will be resolved any time soon.
