There are some reasons we have to have taxes, Federal in particular. The ONLY real one noted in the Constitution is "to provide for the common defense"..... All the social programs we have heaped on us over the years are contrived, some helpful, most though, just used as a method to make a certain group of people beholden to the Congress and thus, used for votes. I do believe in Federal taxes for Interstate Freeways...BUT also think the monies spent/allocated should be audited by outside auditors, as well as both parties in Congress. We definitely need to have incentives for being on budget and for saving money, and heavy penalties for spending more than budgeted. I'd be for giving a bonus to the companies that build the roads if they were LESS than budgeted, ON TIME, and there was NO problem found in the freeway after a 5 year timeframe. I am VERY against giving any ILLEGAL immigrant any sort of money from this government. I am FOR giving a LEGAL immigrant some help from local charities as needed.
