As for my putting Americans out of work when I bought a BMW......sorry about that but I bought an American car before.....not a cheap one.....and it fell apart like it was made in Thailand.

Same could be said for the education system you blindly support.

I don't "blindly" support it. In fact, I think I have more insight into the American educational system at least as it pertains to my state than you do.

I will give you this.......I suspect that there may be more problems with the Arkansas educational system than the one here. I say that because I don't understand Arkansas's economic ranking among the states. You seem to have some capable leaders.......Clinton, Huckabee, etc.....who tend to be progressive. As CJ pointed out, your tax rate is not that bad. Either someone really screwed up badly at one time in Arkansas's history and you all are trying to make up for that mistake, or something else is out of whack like education. The states to the east, north and west of you are fairly prosperous.....and yet AK's economic characteristics are more like Louisiana's which is to the south. I know very little about the state so that's as far as I can take it. That's why I ask. It may be that AK's educational system is very inferior. That would surprise me given your past leaders but again, I know little about your history.

In contrast, there are problems with WA state's educational system but it still is considered a pretty good one.....of course, the best ones in the country are in the Upper Midwest and New England......and now North Carolina seems to be coming on strong. FWIW.
