I've been considering going to Zanzibar, good to hear that they liked it. I may make a trip there soon.

We had already talked before this email came. They said the place below was incredible.....its run by a British couple and the food and surroundings were excellent [small huts]. Of course, its not in Zanzibar. Pat has traveled all over the world with her father and so she's a good judge of those things. If you're interested I can get the name of that place as well as the place they stayed in Zanzibar:

"After our safari we went to Pangani - a small town between Dar es Salaam and Mombassa on the Tanzanian coast. We stayed at this beautiful beach retreat and it felt like paradise. The accommodation and food was exceptional and the beach was nearly empty! If anyone ever plans to go to Tanzania you should not miss that place!"

Pat and Jens say that the African kids are really well behaved.........has that been your experience as well? While not kids, I found the Somalians I've met to be very courteous and respectful of other people......surprisingly so, given the impression of Somalia and Mogadishu we get in the news here. Curious as to your experience.
