The movie took a few liberties and giving the viewer a sense that Papale grew up in South Philly. Papale actually grew up in the Southwest suburbs of Philly (Glenolden)which at the time was and still is a Blue Collar area.

The bar in the movie (Max's) was Maxmillans (also called Max's) which was in Prospect Park.

I grew up in Ridley. He went to high school at Interboro which was Ridley's Thanksgving Day football rival for years (prior to Pennsylvania establishing football playoffs)
