I don't think Hickman can really be described as patronizing. He does show a certain willingness to COMpromise that may seem patronizing. But on the whole he just keeps stating his views that are at odds with the enthusiastic nutcases and then refuses to respond as firmly as he might to their idiocy. That guy Taikun does nothing whatever to moderate his board as long as what is said goes in the direction of breathless enthusiasm punctuated with an occasional kowtow in his direction. I do have to apologize for using the word "mongrel" in connection with that board. Actually I am rather fond of mongrels. The word I wanted was, I think, "cur". The old rule is that you should not get married to a stock, but when it comes to Canadian Oil Sands Trust, I may be committed to a lifelong affair, if not marriage. The income I get now continues to increase, and I think will continue to increase despite the worst the Canadian Tories can do. And even at a 15% long term rate (boosted to 22.5% by my state taxes) my capital gains on that position are just too big to pay taxes on.
