The UN inspectors were doing an excllent job, backed by the threat of force. Bush kicked them out and rushed into war on the basis of WMD which didn't even exist. He knowingly lied and misled, then worse, failed to plan for what to do after the first week of the invasion. and he left Saddam's ammo dumps ungaudred so they could be looted to make IED's. Most of the IED's come from the dumps Bush left unguarded.
