Bush did no post-invasion planning whatsoever. Only focused on securing the oilfields for Halliburton and Exxon. GW was relying on a convicted swindler Chalabi who hadn't lived in Iraq in decades to manage everything. Chalabi turned out to be a huge serial liar. He somehow convinced GW that Iraqis would welcome us with open arms so no security and nation-building apparatus was needed. That was the biggest US policy blunder in history.
