We can yakety yak endlessly about this angle and that angle but bottomline Bush and America cheering him on(in the main) entered into a totally unjustified and pre-emptive war that has brought to Iraq and soon to Iran unmitigated hell because the U.S. leadership and the majority of americans believed in 2003 we are some super-race, above the law of the world, we were America UberAlles, poofed up, arrogant , and fascist imperialist hiding under the cruel hypocritical and devious disguise that this was about spreading freedom, liberty and the american way to what they judged to be the dangerous inferior cultures of the world.
i remind that the Senate in pathetic UnaMind cowardice jumped to support this war and give Bush a license to run amok, and to endorse a "war on terrorism" which was a Carte Blanc to define your enemy arbitarily and set up a disastrous process of having our own freedom and liberty castrated by the cowardly surrender of much of Congress to support the Patriot Act/Acts, with its dark footnotes, such as suspending the right of Habeas Corpus ANYTIME the POTUS chooses to do so.
i wrote this-- "because the U.S. leadership and the majority of americans believed in 2003"-- because those critics of Bush now , many now must face they are culpable in this crime against humanity and this activity that is threatening a much worse scenario indeed coming to pass and to now see that they were blind not to see their error and to reverse this process that is moving into an abyss and to do all that is needed to stop this now.

The phrase "we long suffering Americans" is an egregious statement.
We are like 'long suffering', what a selfish and ridiculous statement, revolting really. IMHO.
We kicked open a hornet's nest in Iraq(i did write before the war started to seek this war we could well be busting open a hornets nest and rip the top off of The Pandora's Box that could lead to catastrophe, i was, however,
viewed in the main, as an alarmist, but i am ALWAYS viewed as an alarmist until i am right and then no one cares what i said much earlier--life is not fair--LOL! such is life.:)
i realize as many as 20% of our citizenry was against this from the start, and i tip my hat to them and say to them, i say to you, that as you were being lambasted as NOT being Patriots, you were in fact the True Patriots..

Sir, you are NOT long suffering and that a typical american-centric statement, BUT i will say if strong courageous action is not NOW taken to STOP Bush/Cheney/McCain/Kagan/Kristol and this NOW minority of fanatic neocons, you will know much suffering, and it will be your own fault.
