I would say that the amount of money sucked out of Ontario, has caused Ontario healthcare to lag behind the provinces whose Healthcare Ontario pays for by means of transfer payments. I notice we now have 3 native land occupations in Ontario not 2 and the Federal Government is no closer to solving the land claims than they were 5 year or 10 years ago. Canadian Federalism and Ontario healthcare are not working, particularly in small towns. I get far fewer services in my small town that I might get in Toronto, but my property taxes and water bills are far higher, because of the costs of welfare. The industries that supported the area are gone, there is little work, and the young people are fleeing in large numbers.

I believe Ontario is headed for a severe recession, and the demands that the ROC makes on Ontario will hinder it's abilities to find a way out. At the point the Bingo halls start to close, one can assume money is getting pretty tight. Our foodbank is extremely short, our United way missed it's target, and the Bingo hall closed last month. Each week another business fails, and is replaced with another call center.
