Regarding Cellphone based Navigation revenue I asked IR. Below is their response.

My Question:

I want to understand how NVT makes money on cellphone based GPS navigation offerred by Verizon and other cellphone carriers that offer NVT maps?

Is it based on per use, flat monthly charge or upfront one time fee?

Navteq IR response

In the ‘offboard’ solution you mentioned below, we are paid on a subscription basis. That is, a piece of what the consumer pays the carrier for that application.

Typically, you want to think about NVT getting paid in the same manner our customers get paid by the consumer for the application that uses our data. For example, a consumer pays for an in-dash navigation system one time, NVT gets paid one time for that data. A consumer signs up for VZ Navigator and pays Verizon monthly for it, NVT gets paid monthly for use of the data.
