I can think of an ignorant president who seemed to make a lot of hay with propaganda on the way to getting the war of his heart's desire. I can think of a lot of local posters who dutifully consumed that propaganda and repeated it as if it were true. They've mostly moved on to LindyBill's Church of W thread now, but W's war remains with us for the foreseeable future. I think the conservative "science" rebuttal of global warming looks a lot more like propaganda than anything Al Gore says, but then I don't think much of "intelligent design" either. One of those reality-based community things, I think.
