Islamic imperialism and fascism is a mis-nomer. In fact Bush and Cheney are much more imperialistic and fascist. Remember, fascism and imperialism are defined as a militarily dominant country invading smaller ones and cracking down on civil liberties, dissent and so forth.
So is there Islamic imperialism? In Somalia maybe but on a five and dime store level. Radical Islamic types tried to take over one of the poorest nations on earth, but failed. The Taliban too, but though Bush is trying to let them get up off the mat, we supposedly already defeated them.
Pray tell, what other country are Islamics invading and trying to take over? If you mean Iran, remember after 9-11 they were ready to start being our friends but Bush snubbed them. Also, Bush put the radicals in power with his threats and invasion. Only that got the Iranian people to vote in the radicals. One radical groups against another now. Bushies are radicals too.
Going back further, despite our mutual dislike of Mullahs, the Shah was no benevolent leader. He was a selfish tyrant who didn't give a damn about his people but spent billions on himself, and let his inner circle live like Gods in enormous palaces. Of course he wasn't all bad, he was very western and bought tens of billions in US armaments. But that's exactly why poor Iranians on the street hated him. He set himself up to be taken down instead of being a river to his people.
Bush is the classic imperialist. He invaded Iraq despite the fact Iraq never attacked us. Just like Hitler he lied about why he had to invade. Now he'd love to invade more countries, but only ones with big oil reserves. However, we are out of troops because Bush's pisspoor policies have castrated our military so only one third of it is even battle ready.
At the same time he's withdrawn crucial forces from Afghanistan which was the only justified war, a place where they actually had Al Qaida terrorists, including some of the ones who helped plan 9-11, most of whom are still alive and well 5 years after 9-11. That is where Bush should be sending more troops, not Iraq or Iran. |
