That's funny. I decided to watch a bit of the poker games that infest the sports channels these days recently, and confirmed how much I prefer chess, because luck never plays a part in the outcome. FWIW, because I play chess very quickly, I often ended up thinking about other things while my opponents considered their move (which would often take quite a while because I always liked to make the games as complicated as possible). I'm sure I even sat there thinking about buffaloes once or twice. As to why to pick "irreplaceable" over "unique", it's for the same reason you pick a particular screwdriver for a particular household repair -- it's the best tool for the job! LC
