I'd say the jury is out on that one. We won't know whether the world is better off without Saddam Hussein in charge of Iraq and its oil wealth for a while, and perhaps never will be able to make the relative assessment since we don't know what Saddam would have done had he remained in power. I think that if most people could go back in time a decide what to go again, they would choose to not invade Iraq.

Personally, I support the idea of using the US's military strength to remove despots from power, but that obviously isn't going to become US policy as a result of Iraq.
