Xaar has a 1000 nozzle head that can be fired at up to 8kHz as opposed the the heads in the P5k that gang up 3 nozzles per color at 116 nozzles each for a total of 384 nozzles at a much lower frequency.

Basically, 1000 nozzles, 70 mm, and 8kHz means that the head can continuously print about 1500 sq. ft. / hour but realistic print speeds would probably be about 1000 - 1200 because the head has to pause at each side of the media.

RGFX claims that they are way ahead in the technology used in ganging up the heads to achieve 360 sq ft / hr but if someone used the Xaar head, they would not need to gang up heads. I do think that RGFX would have used these heads if they were cost effective and feel that they may be working on a high end printer that uses these heads to replace electrostatic printers.

The heads are simply too amazing to just ignore.
